Next Group Meeting: Community Resources

Our next group meeting is scheduled for March 29th, at 10am.  At this meeting we will be discussing community resources available to special needs families.  Please bring any resources, phone numbers, and other information pertaining to this topic, that you would like top share with other familes.

If you are bringing children, please bring your legos, duplos, snap-circuits, or a game your child would like to share with friends.  Also, please let me know if you or your child has any food allergy, as we will be providing snacks.

What we are about

We created this support group after the public school our Autistic son attends, violated many things on his IEP (Individual Educational Program) as well as many things regarding IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

I think like many parents, we assume that our public schools are looking out in the best interest of our children who are on the spectrum.  However, this is not the case.  As parents we need to learn our child's rights, as well as be a resource to other parents; by helping educate and be a valuable resource to other parents.

Our support group covers topics and issues like ours, as well as other things. We educate and advocate for parents with children on the spectrum.
